Meet the Artist

I’m Rachel Mims — an artist, art therapist, and move-abroad coach living in Barcelona, Spain with my two standard poodles, Charlie and Delta.

Creativity has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, but I began to understand the deeper impact of art while recovering from injuries sustained during my time serving in the Army. During difficult seasons, creativity became more than a hobby — it became a way to process emotions, reduce stress, reconnect with myself, and document both the hard moments and the beautiful ones.

Today, I love helping others explore creativity in approachable, meaningful ways — especially during times of change, stress, burnout, or uncertainty. My teaching style focuses on curiosity, experimentation, and creating without the pressure of perfection.

I created Art Journal Jumpstart because I saw how many people wanted to create but felt stuck before they even began.
